Ready, set, Grow: strategies for organic and external growth

Date and Time: November 7th & 9th , 2006.  2 to 3:40 p.m. Eastern Time

Location: Online

Overview

What worked in the past will not necessarily work in the future.  That is, banks must constantly evaluate their growth strategies to ensure they are up to date and actually achieving growth objectives.  Increased competition, commoditization and changes in demographic composition in the market have a substantial impact on the viability of a bank’s growth strategy.  This two part session explores the latest industry trends, common misconceptions about growth, and the importance of proactively addressing changes in the marketplace rather than waiting for growth.  Participants will learn the benefits of both organic and expansionary growth strategies and the importance of addressing the market environment in defining a path to growth and profitability.

Topics will include:

  • Organic and expansionary growth strategies, and how the most profitable strategies involve the correct mix of both
  • There is more than one way to grow (i.e. acquisition, branching, marketing, deepening customer relationships, expanding product offerings, etc.)
  • The importance of taking strategic action

August 10 - Expansionary Growth:
